Microgreens

 Hi! In class we started planting microgreens. I am in a group with Joy and Te Ria. Our group name is called JLT. We planted Mizuna. Everyday we have to water the plants and test them. To test them we use these little things that help us find out the humidity, temparature, conductivity and light of the plants in the ice cream container. We have a little book where we keep the records of that.

The Lion Dance

Hi! On Wednesday we got to learn the lion dance. First we had to find a partner and find out who wanted to be the head of the lion and who wanted to be the back of the lion. I was the back of the lion. The person who was the head of the lion had to tie a belt around their waist. The belt was so the back of the lion could hold onto the front. We practised how we were going to dance and then we became lions.

Hi! Every week for my classes literacy rotation we have to do research cards, I did one about cats! The task was to find 10 cat breeds and list atleast 3 interesting facts about each breed.

Music With Fran

Music with Fran

 For the past couple of weeks we have had a music teacher named Fran come to our school and teach us how to play some instruments! We have been learning the violin and glockenspiel! What went well for me was that I knew what I was doing because I have played them before! What didn't go so well was that my violin kept cracking. What I can do better, I need to concentrate more. Another World

One day I woke up and heard birds squawking really loudly, as I got up my curtains opened magically and you know what I saw? A tornado forming in the sky! I went into the kitchen and saw my mum somehow fading, I grabbed onto her hand but it was too late. She was gone! I scurried around to find my dad but he faded away too. I fainted!

 As soon as I woke up I found out my house had flown up into the sky! I passed out and woke up in the middle of nowhere, I tried looking for people but there were none! I heard someone scream out “Is there anyone there?” They kept repeating that over and over so I followed where the sound came from. I soon got tired so I sat down somewhere and it started getting dark. I made a fire out of wood and rocks and I went to sleep.

I suddenly saw light and I opened my eyes and saw a bird of some sort. I screamed and it flew away, I realised that I really needed food or else I would die. I found a spear! I thought to myself, “Maybe I could go hunting?” so I decided I might as well. I saw a cow in the distance, since I’ve been a good runner since I was seven so I ran as fast as I could and got to the cow.

BUT the only bad thing that happened was I tripped over a rock. I was too close to the cow! The cow nudged me and I decided to not kill it because he was kinda cool! I decided to name him Bob! 

Bob let me go on his back (I’m aware that he’s a cow.) and he morphed into a horse! I said to myself “That's one weird cow!” He led me to a paddock full of grass and morphed into a caterpillar, thank god that was a malfunction. He turned into a human and he was a girl! I had no idea even though “he” had udders. 

She covered me in pixie dust so I could morph too! She told me the instructions to morph. You firstly do a wiggle, next you think of what you wanna be and boom! There I was. An orangutan! I decided that wasn’t the right look for me so I turned into a sheep. We ate some grass and set off to another place! I turned into a cloud and drifted for a while and left her, she ate my grass! Anyways I found a unicorn, they are known for being VERY rude! They like insulting people so I drifted away. 

It started raining and I was a cloud hovering over an ocean so you know what it did to me? You know when towels are wet they get heavy, well yeah I’m a cloud and I have just fallen out of the sky because the rain got to me. 

I fell into the ocean and turned into a fish. Just after I did that I got eaten by a rude shark. 

Well that's my life, and I can’t tell you about it anymore because its very boring at the moment.

My Experience in Lockdown

Lockdown all started off in New Zealand in march with some person who inhaled a virus and spread it everywhere like jam, it was after lunch and I learnt that we now had to prepare for war with a virus. So we had to pack up our chromebooks and get them ready to take home. Whilst packing up my chromebook I was picturing me juggling heaps of toilet paper at once! 

It was hometime so I rushed to the computer tables and got my chromebook. I then walked home and when I walked through the door my mum said to me, “Lia we have to go to the supermarket quick!”. So I got in the car and we got to the supermarket and bought 300 dollars worth of groceries. When we got home I ate half of the food before it was even lockdown! Mum got mad, VERY mad. 

2 days later… it was the first day of lockdown! The government moved up the holidays to the first two weeks of lockdown so we had no school work. I wanted money so I decided to work for my parents, I got heapsss of money! I spent it on food, great purchase. 

After those two weeks of doing nothing it was time to start online school, I set my alarm for my google meeting and was on the meet at the right time. I forgot what my classmates even sounded like! The next day I joined at the time the first one was at and turned out I was half an hour late. Everyday in lockdown was the same.  I can’t really tell you more about it because it is quite boring. Here is a bear that me and my dad found named Corona Bear.

The most beautiful dog in the whole universe!

Hello, today I am going to be telling you about my dog named Kola, Kola is a Kelpie and she has a beautiful brown coat. Not THAT coat, a coat as in fur. Anyways she’s beautiful. She is as bristly as a toothbrush! Since I have no siblings she’s like a sister to me. She is 2 years old and she’s turning 3 in December! Kola really enjoys running on the beach and playing tug of the war. Somehow I never win. Kola likes eating salami and meat flavoured dog biscuits.

The Trip to Te Papa and Capital E

Buongiorno, today I am going to be telling you about my class trip to Capital E and Te Papa! Yesterday we caught a bus at 9:15 am to Wellington, well the bus trip was very, what's the word? Interesting. Everybody sang "Baby Shark", "Bob the Builder" and "Let it Go" from frozen the whole way down to Te Papa. 1 hour passed very quickly and we arrived at Te Papa! The little kids stayed in the bus to go to a show somewhere else.

We got off of the bus and got into our groups, my group had me, Mauatua, Ajia, Lexi, Jessica, Ella Jaye and Jaye. We went inside and we went up the stairs and straight to the Earthquake House or what I call the Seizure House. It took us about , 15 minutes standing in line? Okay so we went inside the house and there was this screen with people on it moving around while there was an earth quake, so what happened was I overreacted and fell over and ended up underneath the table. It was really cool because it was realistic!

Next we went to Gallipoli, not the actual place but an exhibit of it. I have been in there 7 times? Every time I cry! I warned my group about me being scared and that I might grab hold of their arms and start tearing up. So that happened, sorry Ella Jaye. The statues looked so real! 

After that we had a lunch break, and after that we went to the marae in the museum. So we had to go up HEAPS of stairs! My legs were aching! So when we got up there we saw some greenstone. We all ran up to it and touched it and it looked like it had rice on it! Next we took class photo,

The last place we went to was the Toi Art place, It was based on a room filled with confetti. It was so cool! And yet we took ANOTHER class photo! Here it is

After all of that we went outside and walked to a place called Capital E. Capital E is a place with so many things to do but yesterday our session was about music making in the Media Lab. When we walked inside we had to walk up HEAPS of stairs! When we got up all of those stairs we entered the Media Lab. There was a box to put our bags in it. So I put my bag in there and the tutor she told us how to make music! She showed us a example of some music she had made.
